More About Teresa

In the spotlight is Teresa Rucker, medical secretary at CDC Shaker. Teresa joined Centers for Dialysis Care in 1999 after a friend at church convinced her to check out a new job opportunity. Teresa had previously worked as a dental assistant for 12 years and was looking for a career change. Her friend told her that Centers for Dialysis Care had a great training program, beginning Teresa’s 22-year career at the organization. Teresa started out in the technical department and has worked at various facilities including Euclid, Warrensville, Garfield Heights, Harborside and Oakwood.

Teresa is a lifelong learner. In 2019 she completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University. She currently works full time as a case manager at OhioGuidestone, one of the largest behavioral health agencies in the state. Teresa says, “Centers for Dialysis Care is her family and she has learned so much.” Because of this, she decided to continue her CDC career as a PRN secretary, where she enjoys welcoming patients to the unit.

As a child, Teresa’s family actively volunteered at church feeding the homeless. Today, she continues this passion an active volunteer at her church, as well as assists Cleveland MOTTEP with Teen Summits. She loves working with kids. In addition to working full time and PRN, Teresa loves spending time with her three children and traveling.

Her advice to new employees is: “stay true to yourself and it is OK to learn from others.”

We thank Teresa for her 22 years of service to Centers for Dialysis Care.
